Data Query

The Data Query function allows the user to select features based on attribute table values. Access this tool by clicking on the Search tab on the Contents panel and then clicking on Data Query:

From the Layer drop down list, select a layer to query. Next, make a selection from the Field drop down list to specify the field to query:

Next, define the query. The query will differ depending on the data type (text, number) of the chosen field:

If a text field was chosen, Define the Text Query will display. Enter the text on which to search and click the Search button. The query will perform a substring search and the results will be displayed.

If a numeric field was chosen, areas to define an Operator and the Number Query will appear.

Use these to create the query. Select an operator (less than, greater than, or equals) and then enter the number. If 'less than' or 'greater than' was selected, define the second bound if needed. Click the Search button. Results matching the entered query will display.

Click Reset to start another query. Note that hitting Reset will only clear the query and not the results. Results will remain until another query is made.
